As finals week approaches, us college students tend to get more stressed out and take more time to study, and rarely take time to focus on ourselves. Well, this is what this blog is specifically for. To allow you to take the day off when you are overstimulated and stressed out. here is a guide to taking a mental health day
What is a Mental Health Day?
A mental health day is when you take the entire day to unplug and do stress-free activities, or do absolutely nothing. Just as by the end of the day you feel relaxed and ready for the next day. There are normally no rules or planning to take a mental health day, other than not doing anything thats stressful, or work related, but there are plenty of things you can do! i would not recommend taking a random day that you have class or work, unless they give you mental health days with no consequence, but do it on a free day or if you can ask to get a day off.
What Can i do?
There are plenty of things you can do to during your mental health day. have a spa day at home with some face masks and a nice hot bath, play video games, watch your favorite TV show, go out with friends, go shopping, cook for yourself, redecorate, it all depends on what YOU think is right for your day. i can't tell you what specifically to do, but i can give you ideas.
How many times can i do this?
i mean i think you can have as many as you think necessary, or when you know that a certain week or month will be stressful, you can put in a day based on your schedule. i was told to take at least one mental health day a month, because i tend to stress more than my peers. and if that is also you, consider doing the same thing.
